Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute (“CCMI”) announces availability of Fiber Box, a tool for testing laboratories and comparable organizations engaged in fiber analysis. Fiber Box contains samples useful for analysts when encountering fibers difficult to identify. The sample fibers contained in Fiber Box are not “standards” of the species of animals, but are “reference samples” for assisting identification of animal fibers.
Fiber Box is made up of 48 samples. Each sample is 2 to 3 grams labeled and packaged in a plastic tube. All 48 samples are contained in a briefcase style box for ease of use. The 48 samples that were selected for the Fiber Box are 25 cashmere, 3 non-cashmere goat, 1 cashgora, 3 camel hair, 8 sheep wool, 7 yak and 1 ibex. The CCMI Fiber Box will sell for 1000 USD (one thousand U.S. Dollars). The price includes the freight to the destination but does not include the import duty of the importing country.
